We Love Reading!

World Book Day 2018Childwall Abbey School will be hosting a range of reading based activities across all Key Stages during the week beginning 26th February 2018. These will lead up to World Book Day (1st March 2018), when pupils in Key Stage 3 will be able to dress up as their favourite book character. (This is optional. Pupils who do not want to dress up should come to school in normal school uniform.)

We always encourage parents and carers to take time out to read with their child. Celebrating the joy of reading is an important and fun way to develop skills for life.

Half-Term is here!

Half-term is here!Wishing all members of the Childwall Abbey School community a very happy half- term. We have been so busy since we came back to school in January, with lots of hard work, especially for our Year 11 exam groups and some lovely activities, such as the Sixth-form Duke of Edinburgh Expedition, Peace Proms performance and visits by sports students from Liverpool Hope University. We can all have a good rest next week and return refreshed on Monday 19th February 2018.

Fantastic Performance at Liverpool Peace Proms 2018

Musical notes imageCongratulations to all members of Childwall Abbey School Choir, who represented our school so magnificently at the Liverpool Peace Proms, in the Echo Arena last Saturday. The whole event was amazing, with 2,000 pupils from schools in Liverpool and the North-west joining together to sing and to celebrate communities living together in peaceful cooperation. Thanks also to all the parents, carers, family and friends who came along to support us.

The hard work our pupils and staff had put in to rehearsing for the big day really paid off and we all had a fantastic time. Well done everyone!

Pupils must bring a packed lunch in a disposable bag and a bottle of water. The dress code is a white top and black trousers or skirt.

The choir and staff have been rehearsing for many weeks and we are very proud of their dedication and hard work. Good luck everyone!
